Department of Arrhythmia

Kristijan Đula was born on April 3rd, 1987 in Split. During his childhood he lived in Sinj where he have finished elementary and high-school education. In 2005 he started to attend School of Medicine at University of Zagreb, where he successfully graduated in 2011. After a year of internship, he started working as a physician at the Zagreb County Emergency Department from December 2014 to April 2016, after which he began with his residency in cardiology at General hospital ”dr. Ivo Pedišić” Sisak. At the end of 2016, he moved to work at Department of Cardiovascular disease in University hospital center ”Sestre milosrdnice” where he has completed cardiology residency programme in October, 2019.

In his professional and scientific work to date, he has published 10 scientific papers and congressional abstracts, two of which are cited in the Current Contents database. He has actively participated in several domestic and international professional congresses.

He is member of Croatian cardiology society, European cardiology society and European heart rhythm association.

The focus of his clinical work are arrhythmology and cardiac pacing.

Cardiac pacing and Electrophysiology Department

I was born on January 24th, 1983. in Zagreb. I graduated from the Vrapče School of Nursing in Zagreb in 2001. After that, I did an internship at the Vrapče Psychiatric Hospital in Zagreb in 2002. I am currently employed at Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre since 2003. Firstly, I worked in the emergency department of the Department of Internal Medicine, and afterwards in the Department for Cardiovascular Medicine. Most of my work experience, I have spent in the Coronary Care Unit of the same department. In 2010 I completed my undergraduate studies at the Higher Medical School in Bihać. Since March 2015, I have been working at the Centre for Arrhythmia and Cardiac Pacing.

Cardiac pacing and Electrophysiology Department

I was born on May 1^st, 1972 in Zabok. I graduated from nursing high school at Vrapče Nursing School in Zagreb in 1990, and in 1991 I was employed at Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre. In 2010, I completed my undergraduate nursing studies at the Higher Medical School in Bihać.

In my 24 years of work, I spent a total of 20 years in the Cardiology Department. Since 2012 I have been working in the Electrophysiology laboratory of the Centre for Arrhythmia and Cardiac Pacing. Since 2013, I have been a member of the Invasive and Interventional Cardiology team.

Paediatric Clinic, Department of Cardiology

I was born on November 29^th, 1982 in Metković. In the same city, I graduated from the high school and then enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb where I graduated in 2007. After my internship and passing the state exam, I begun my specialization in paediatrics at the Paediatric Clinic at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre. I passed the specialist exam in 2013. Since then, I have been working in the Department of Paediatric Cardiology at the same institution. I did my specialization in paediatric cardiology from 2014 to 2016. at the Sisters of Mercy and at the Paediatric Clinic at the Zagreb University Hospital Centre. During my specialization, my education in invasive cardiology begins. Since 2016, I have been involved in electrophysiology training at Centre for Arrhythmia and Cardiac Pacing. In 2017 I spent 6 months in Budapest at the Paediatric Electrophysiology Laboratory with Dr. Laszlo Kornyeia where I had the opportunity to do electrophysiology in children with complex cardiac arrhythmias, as well to participate in invasive hemodynamic studies and interventions. I have published 5 scientific articles, 2 of which are cited in the Current Contents database. I have actively participated in several domestic and international congresses.

Department of Arrhythmia

I was born on March 7^th, 1986 in Split. I spent my childhood in Omiš where I finished elementary school and high school. I enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2004 and graduated in July 2010. I completed my compulsory internship at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre for one year during 2011. I started my specialization in cardiology in 2012, also at Sisters of Mercy. I passed the specialist exam in October 2017 and since then I have been working at the Department for Cardiovascular Medicine as a cardiology consultant (cardiologist). My area of expertise is arrhythmology and cardiac pacing.

Since November 2017 I have been fellow in the field of interventional electrophysiology, cardiac pacing and resynchronization therapy at the University Hospital Basel (Universitätspital Basel), Switzerland (mentor: Prof. Christian Sticherling, M.D., Ph.D).

In 2016, I completed my Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. In June 2017, I obtained my academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in Biomedicine and Health, defending my PhD dissertation entitled: “The effectiveness of cardiogoniometry in the prediction of stable coronary disease in women“.

I have actively participated in a number of domestic and international symposiums and congresses. So far, I have published 25 articles in cited publications, 15 of which were cited in CC indexed journals. I have participated in writing the textbook “ECG in emergency“.

Head of the Department of Invasive and Interventional Cardiology

I was born on January 6^th, 1978 in Imotski, where I graduated from elementary school and high school. In 1996, I enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and graduated in July 2002. I completed compulsory internship in the next year and passed the state exam in July 2003. I started my specialization in internal medicine at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre in 2003, and passed my specialist exam on February 26^th, 2008. Since passing the specialist exam, I have been working as a department physician at the Department for Cardiovascular Medicine of the Internal Medicine Clinic of the Sisters of Mercy. In 2012, I passed the subspecialty exam in the field of cardiology. My field of expertise, besides internal medicine and general cardiology are arrhythmology and cardiac pacing. In the field of cardiac arrhythmology and pacing, I have been educated in cardiology centres in Bratislava, Slovakia and Debrecen, Hungary, and on six short specialized courses in Lausanne, Switzerland and Frankfurt, Germany. In 2010, I completed my Postgraduate Study, Biomedicine and Health at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb and in 2011 I defended my PhD dissertation entiteled “Asymptomatic atrial fibrillation in patients with a pacemaker”. I have actively participated in a number of national and international meetings and congresses (four lectures at international congresses). I have published twelve articles in cited publications, of which six are cited in the Current Contents database.
