Ivan Zeljković, MD, PhD

I was born on March 7th, 1986 in Split. I spent my childhood in Omiš where I finished elementary school and high school. I enrolled at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zagreb in 2004 and graduated in July 2010. I completed my compulsory internship at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre for one year during 2011. I started my specialization in cardiology in 2012, also at Sisters of Mercy. I passed the specialist exam in October 2017 and since then I have been working at the Department for Cardiovascular Medicine as a cardiology consultant (cardiologist). My area of expertise is arrhythmology and cardiac pacing.
Since November 2017 I have been fellow in the field of interventional electrophysiology, cardiac pacing and resynchronization therapy at the University Hospital Basel (Universitätspital Basel), Switzerland (mentor: Prof. Christian Sticherling, M.D., Ph.D).
In 2016, I completed my Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb. In June 2017, I obtained my academic degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences in Biomedicine and Health, defending my PhD dissertation entitled: “The effectiveness of cardiogoniometry in the prediction of stable coronary disease in women“.
I have actively participated in a number of domestic and international symposiums and congresses. So far, I have published 25 articles in cited publications, 15 of which were cited in CC indexed journals. I have participated in writing the textbook “ECG in emergency“.
